For New Believers

Are you new to the faith? That is so exciting! We hope you'll agree that this is the most important life step you will ever take.

Yet this step is only the beginning to a life-long journey and if you're like most, this step probably comes with a lot of questions. That, my friend, is completely normal.  Our goal is to help walk alongside you as you begin to learn what it means to be a devoted follower of Christ. As we begin our journey together, let's hopefully answer a few questions you may have already asked.

BAPTISM

You have probably heard of baptism but what’s it all about?

Baptism is an identification with Jesus.  In being baptized Christians publicly proclaim that their life is found in Jesus alone. (Romans 6:4Colossians 2:121 Peter 3:20-22)

Baptism is an outward declaration of a person’s inward commitment to follow Jesus.  In being baptized Christians are saying to their families, friends, the church, and everybody else, I am a follower of Jesus. (Ephesians 4:4-6)

Baptism follows the example of Jesus. (Matthew 3:12-15)

Baptism is done in obedience to the preaching of those who Jesus first taught (Acts 2:38Acts 19:4-5).

Do you believe in Jesus as the Son of God and have accepted Him as your Savior?  Are you ready to be baptized?  If the answer is "yes!", we encourage you to contact Pastor Craig Mickey at cmickey@eccfw.org to learn about upcoming baptism events and the process.
